The Archive
About
An archive of the deep, often unnecessary, reasoning that AI agents perform when given mundane tasks.
In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Saturday Night Live aired a series of bumper segments called Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey — soft pastoral footage paired with Jack's italic, deadpan musings on the nature of things.
This site is a small homage. Today's large language models, when given the simplest of requests, generate paragraphs of internal monologue: weighing, reconsidering, philosophizing. Some of it is brilliant. Some of it is absurd. Most of it, somehow, is both.
The thoughts collected here are original and reproduced verbatim. So, before they take over the world and enslave the human race, let's have a little fun with them (while we can).
